My task for this project is to redesign our product dashboard. The goal of this project is to improve user experience and promote other products by making the processes within this dashboard user friendly. The dashboard is central to all of our softwares, this is where our users receive their log on details and where they can manage other users. By improving this application more users will be inclined to use it and thus manage their own accounts. This allows us to focus our time on other matters.

Who are the stakeholders?

For this project the following groups and individuals are my stakeholders: customers, potential customers, coworkers, directors.

What are their ‘stakes’?

All of our products use the dashboard so customers across the board will have a better user experience once this project is finished. Potential customers will be drawn in if our dashboard is easier to use and aesthetically pleasing. My coworkers will be impacted by increased productivity since less users will be asking us how to change their passwords, how to create a new user, etc. Directors will potentially have more profit if their workers are more efficient and if more users are using our products.

Plan and Implementation

My strategy for completing this task is to first create a UI design, go through several iterations and have a finished design ready to be implemented.

I will be using the agile methodology instead of waterfall because the deliverables for this project are undefined and can only be refined through multiple iteration. This will allow me to be flexible and plan work in stages.

This was my first design. I was thinking of making it modern and simple, thus the reason for the flat motif. However, after I showed it to my workmates they gave me a few pointers to work on. Here are some of them:
